this and then that
i saw this first photo at you are my fave. and i like it bc i love flowers, esp flowers in hair, esp jasmine in hair. and the photo came from this here (size to small) who is my new friend crush.
where i got the pictures of lauren moffatt's spring collection. i kinda hate it when people drop names like you are suppose to know who they are...just like i did but ihave no idea who this designer is.
can i just admit that i am shallow and desperate want to wear platforms with socks. PLEASE??!!?!!? Oh wait. i live in honduras and teach 4th grade. no. not a good idea. grr. i might wear heels with socks one day and i'm sure ill get 298 weird looks and feel a tad bit unprofessional the whole day. maybe if i wear my blazer i they will counter act each other. i kinda miss living somewhere where i can wear whatever. maybe i need to live in new york. i have never had that thought in my life. i miss being around creative things.
lately i am over all the work that teachers have to do. and the stress. and i think well maybe i should do something creative with my life. my only creative outlet would be this. and i have neglected it since i got here bc i am too busy with weekly notas para padres and making stupid flipcharts. i love my kids, i do. but the amount of work is utterly ridiculous. i get so bogged down with the stress that i can barely have a conversation with them. or look at a couple of my favorite blogs a day without feeling guilty.

saturday morning's brunch recipe !
Ingredients
- 8 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 small red onion, sliced (about 1 cup)
- 2 cups chopped cooked broccoli
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded extra-sharp Cheddar (2 ounces)
Directions
Separate 4 of the eggs, putting the whites into a medium sized bowl and discarding the yolks. Add the 4 whole eggs and 2 tablespoons of water to the whites and whisk well.
In a medium ovenproof nonstick skillet heat the oil over a medium flame. Add the onion and cook until it begins to soften, about 5 minutes. Add the broccoli and cook for another 2 minutes. Season with salt and a few turns of pepper. Pour the egg mixture over the vegetables in the skillet covering them evenly. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and let cook until the egg mixture has set around the edges but is somewhat liquid in the middle, about 8 minutes. Sprinkle with the cheese.
Meanwhile, preheat the broiler. Place the skillet under the broiler about 2 inches from the heat until the surface is set and golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes. Be careful not to overcook or the egg mixture will become tough.
Cut the frittata into 8 wedges and serve.

My Honduran Lesson Planning Evening.
1. Dinner was sliced pear, apple, honey and fresh mint. One bc it's delicious and two bc i ate a fried chicken sandwich with orange mayo and tortilla chips ON IT . Never again. It was a lemming thing. 2. Two cups of green tea in ridiculous mugs. "Be Happy" and "Pooh" It took me two tries to find a satisfactory honduran green tea and I will be bring back mugs after Christmas. Or feel free to send me one.

7. And my computer. Which means oodles of lesson plans, tiny bits of fb and only like 4 blog reads today.

apparently hondurans will not kill mermaid of honor
i like the camille bouquet! i made camille tea the afternoon i left for honduras! we planted it in the garden in late spring and i finally got to use it. :) I alllmost bought some camille tea today but I was worried I didn't have enough cash. next time!
and i just like this plate. who wouldn't? esp if it was the only one you had like it!

okay so technically im not supposed to talk about honduras anymore over here at mermaid of honor now that i have that other blog.
but i have to say that i talked to a teacher who lived in the house i will be moving into and she said it by far the nicest house that the school rents and the biggest and (this is key) they had almost all the parties.
yes please.
after reading 4985 blog posts on dyi party stuff.
i am so ready to try my hand at it.
